The Quarken 27 Cabin offers exceptional build quality, superb state-of-the-art Nordic design, and fantastic performance.
Quarken is a bold new brand from Finland that has taken the Adventure Boat market head on, by winning “Best Sports Boat up to 30 Feet” in the highly respected 2023 Motor Boat Awards. This was an incredible achievement for the first model they produced.
Not only is Quarken designed in Finland, it is built in Finland, the home of some of the finest craftsmen in the world. Each Quarken is meticulously produced to exacting standards, so you can be assured of incredible quality and durability.
The 27 Cabin’s innovative design ensures safe comfortable access to the bow, while still retaining plenty of room in the main cabin. This is a challenge to accomplish on a sub 30’ boat, and Quarken’s clever implementation of an offset cabin is how they achieved it.
A slight flair on the hull towards the bow not only creates a dryer ride but it also allows for a more generous space forward. 3 comfortable forward facing seats, that can be accompanied by a table for drinks or dining, and can be converted to a spacious daybed.
And whilst it is primarily a day boat, it still offers a comfortable forward cabin with a double berth, sink and toilet. It’s a comfortable, private place for the wife or girlfriend to use the bathroom, the kids to take a quick nap, and it’s also more than enough to enjoy a night on anchor.
The performance, twin stepped hull is paired with the next generation Yamaha F300 V6 4.2L Offshore outboard which offers excellent performance and original Japanese reliability. What’s more, every Quarken comes with Yamaha’s built in Digital Electric Steering (DES) which provides exceptional boat control. The digital steering compliments the digital fly-by-wire gearshift and throttle controls which are delivered as standard.

The Reviews
Boat Life
Reviewed by Dan Jones of ‘Dan’s Boat Life’ fame, Dan was immensely impressed with its extremely high quality and superb, Scandinavian design. It seems the rest of the boating community have been equally impressed, with the following statement from Quarken being recently made; “We are pleased to announce that the Quarken 27 has been nominated for the prestigious ‘European Powerboat of the Year 2023’ award during the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2022. This award is considered the boating industry’s Oscar for the best new motorboats of the season.” Born in Finland.

One of the most apparent innovations is the large pilothouse-style cabin, which is offset to the starboard side. The front window features a slightly reversed rake angle and a substantial ‘eyebrow’ to shield the glass from glare and rain. On the port side of the cabin, there’s a high-gunwale, single-level walkway connecting the cockpit to the foredeck.

It is sometimes said that there is “nothing new under the sun.” And this holds true for many of the boats we review, which are an evolution of previous models, with perhaps some refinement of an existing design. However, every so often, something emerges that shatters these preconceived notions.

As on the T-Top model, rather than opting for a full walkaround design, Quarken has offset the wheelhouse to starboard to create more space inside the cabin at the expense of a starboard side deck. That leaves room for a deep walkway along the port side, linking the aft cockpit with the more spacious foredeck lounge up front.
